To Dr: I can see where you’re coming from, but I argue that the missions are absolutely doable in the early game without losses and disagree with there being a massive balance issue. The buffed up lost honestly make those missions a tad easier by killing advent, of course only for so long as advent is still around. I usually take the guys out that drop on top of you on the 2nd turn and then just bail for extraction, as it’s unreasonable to fight everything. Though in combination with “Rescue Denmother” it can make missions needlessly frustrating when having to deal with them and the chosen and advent and the timer on denmother AND civilians.Īs for ambush: honestly I never found them hard to begin with. Sure maybe the screamer and brute could use a little less health for conventional weapons in the beginning, but usually there’s never more then on screen so you’re able to focus them with a few soldiers. So getting overwhelmed is either because of advent being stupid and blowing shit up or the player not handling the zombies with careĪs for balance issues, I don’t see them. Lost missions were designed to “get in, do the thing, get out quickly before getting overrun” and wwz actually gives you a reason to run. Yet I have never lost a soldier or a mission to wwz missions even early game. I mod captain to be harder as I don’t find legend difficulty fun. It makes them immensely more difficult, that is absolutely true. I have over 600 hours in the game, I usually either play on commander or legend and add other mods on top of these depending on how difficult of a playthrough I want.
